MORE PICTURES OF KAYLIE!

Here is an exhausted mommy loving little Kaylie!

One of our nurses was nice enough to make Kaylie a fun little name tag.

I know that Amy did all the work, but I was pretty tired also. It's amazing how easy it is to just doze off for a few minutes (even on rock hard furniture at the hospital)!

This is one of my favorite pictures! Kaylie has this winking thing down! She almost always opens her left eye first. She is my everything!!!

Here is our little princess getting ready to go home! All of her clothes were too big and she looked like a little South Park character in her seat!

WE PROUDLY WELCOME KAYLIE ANN CARPENTER TO OUR FAMILY!!!

We welcomed our precious Kaylie Ann Carpenter into our family at 10:33 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2008. Kaylie weighed in at an even 7 pounds and was 18 1/4 inches long. Amy and I have been looking forward to this day for some time now and we can't believe the instant bond and love you can have for a child. We love Kaylie!!! Here are a few pictures or our little princess in her first couple of days in the hospital.
Here is Kaylie fast asleep. It was fun to learn the swaddling technique!!! I think I would go crazy if I couldn't move my hands or feet but I'm sure it's rather comfortable for her.

Here is the happy family shortly after Kaylie was born.

It was a lot of fun to have both Grandma's and Aunt Ali at the hospital. I am glad that Ali was there to help approve of Kaylie's first bow!

Here's daddy holding Kaylie for the first time!!!

Myth Busted!

We had heard rumors of it at the doctors office, and a few friends had passed along the urban legend as well. Could such a thing truly exists, a pizza that would induce labor. It comes from Cafe trio in Salt Lake City, so Jeff and I went on Saturday for lunch. Now almost 72 hours after eating the chicken garlic pizza, I can say that it is only that, a pizza - no magical properties included.

First Drive of the Year!!!

In case John looks at this blog in search of a few tips on how to drive the ball straight and far!!! Thanks again for the fun round of golf!!!

GOLF SEASON HAS STARTED

Well, John and I officially started the 2008 golf season at Thanksgiving Point this weekend. We played under some pretty tough c0nditions with cold temperatures and a brisk wind. The toughest part of the conditions was probably the state of our games! For the first round of the year, it went suprisingly well (you can tell it was the first round of the year based on our extremely white legs!!!). John opened with a downhill curving putt for birdie and he should have quit after the first hole! I realize that it really is a stupid question, but yes, in the end I did win. Using our modified scoring, and I emphasize modified, I shot a -2 and John shot a +1. John made a valient charge at the end, but I had built a large enough lead to pull away with the win!
A sign of good things to come is that I only lost 2-3 golf balls during the round. For those of you who have played at Thanksgiving Point before, there are plenty of holes to lose a golf ball.

Overall, we each had holes that we birdied and I think the highest score on any hole was an 8 (we stayed out of double digits!!!). It is always a lot of fun playing with John and I look forward to a great summer of golf!!! John and I are planning on playing our own little tournament this summer with the final round being played at Torrey Pines during the summer. Let's just say that John has a lot of practicing if he thinks he stands a chance!!! Thanks for the good times John and I can't wait for the rest of the summer of golf!

Springtime babies!

Anyone who know me, knows I love animals. It has been a recent change over the last 5 or 6 years...maybe the nurturing in me kicked in. I used to think that animals were dirty and gross and belonged outside. Now every animal is sweet and I want to cuddle on it. The goats at my parents "farm" are all having their kids, ( I am a little jealous of them all), and they are so cute. We had on in the house trying to show Kate, but he was to excited. Only Dad, a.k.a. the goat whisperer, could calm him down. Spring is here and all the new animal babies are being born, we can only hope that our little carpenter will follow suite soon.

What a party girl!

Another party!- Georgia threw baby girl a shower last weekend. It was tons of fun to see everyone and visit... we don't get together enough. Our baby girl got a ton of cute things. A girl can never have enough clothes, especially really cute ones. We can't wait to dress her up in all of her outfits and blankies and try all her new gear out. She certainly does have a lot of people who love her already and we a so grateful for the generosity that has been shown to us and our little one to come. Thanks again to everyone.

A Party for Baby Girl !

The girls at work threw a shower for me and baby girl my last day...and we thought her room was pink before. There are so many cute things in her closet now, I love to go and look. She is going to be one spoiled girl. Thanks so much to everyone who was there. It was so much fun. I really miss hanging out with all my girls, and even the working part of work a little...although sleeping in till 9 am is pretty great. I guess I'd better now while I have a chance.

I just wanted to tell you Happy Valentines day. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. It is like every day is Valentines day at our house becuase you do things to show me how much you love me every day. You are alway putting me before yourself and making sure I am taken care of. I love how silly you can be and how much fun you are too. And I appreciate how hard you work for us. I know in a few weeks you are going to make as good of a dad and you do a husband. Every day I love you more than the day before, you are my world...Have a great day!

More Snow!

Last night we had the biggest storm ever since people started living on Traverse Mountian. There was only about 4 or 5 inches of snow, but wind and ice made it mean. The road coming in and out of the subdivision and I-15 was closed so poor Jeff couldn't get home and had to spend the night in a holiday inn on the other side of the point. And poor me all alone with the power out. People were stuck on the freeway for hours and slept in their cars on the side of the road so I guess we were both lucky to be inside. Toby and I are enjoying being house bound today. This is a picture of the backyard this morning. You can see how ice is still stuck to the side of the door and everything.

Chillin' Chilly

We have so much snow! The news said something like 22 inches fell up here between Saturday and Sunday. Looking at our house Sunday morning we couldn't belive how much there was. Church was even cancelled. Toby was stuck in Heber for a few days becuase the canyon was closed and I couldn't go pick him up after our trip. The snow can be inconvenient, but it sure is beautiful. I love the snow! I love to take Toby running through the snow, especially when it is so high he disappears. I love to be the first one to walk through deep, undisturbed snow. I even love to shovel the snow, though Jeff won't let me shovel much as pregnant as I am. What a great winter!

Jeff and I headed to St. George for the weekend to get some sun. It wasn't hot, but there wasn't any snow, which was a nice change. We stayed at a condo with this cute patio and a great view (see above). I guess the groundhog saw his shadow while we were away, so six more weeks until Lehi looks a little more like this.

GOOD LUCK ELDER

Elder Craig Anderson went in the MTC, on his way to Taiwan, a week ago today. He already emailed us and it sounds like he is loving it so far. Anyone intrested in keeping up with him can link to his blog from our blog.

Since it was snowing too hard to really go snowmobiling and enjoy it, we played Rock Band instead. It is our new favorite. Here Jeff and I are rocking out.

We went snowmobiling with the family...well when I say we, I mean Jeff, becuase this picture was as far as I got on the snowmobile. It was a blizzard also, so they didn't really even go out that much. Still fun though.

December 30, 2007

I saw the countdown on our blog that said the baby was coming in 14 weeks and thought we aren't ready for her at all. So we...well mostly Jeff, got to work. Now she has a room with painted walls, a crib, dresser, and chair. There is still lots to do, but now I feel like we have at least got a start on things. Plus it is fun to go in the bedroom and think of it as her room.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We hope everyone had a great christmas season. We really did. So much so, that I am refusing to take down the christmas tree. It still feels like christmas at home when it is up. Between all the christmas parties and family events it was a busy time, and it was so much fun to spend time with everyone. We got to spend a lot together, enjoying christmas at home too.

And the Stork is bringing a ....

Well, we had our ultrasound this morning! Amy's pulse was around 120 while we were waiting because she was so nervous. We had the doctor show us all the different parts of the baby and we are happy and blessed to say that the baby is in perfect health thus far. We saw pictures of the baby's little feet and hands and the baby even turned and gave us a smile! We also received the great news that we are having a baby GIRL!!!
We are both very excited and feel very blessed to have such a healthy baby girl growing inside Amy! I told Amy that there are a lot of female golfers out there and maybe her chances of a golf scholarship are higher than if she were a boy. We had a fun day sharing the news with family and we appreciate all the love and support our family has shown us. We did start our shopping today with just a few necessary outfits (refer to the Nike outfit in the picture). All I know is that the baby's closet turned pink really fast!!!

As far as names are concerned. We know one thing for sure, "Tiger"inna is out! I am sure we will spend the next 4 months debating and discussing possible names for our little princess.

We went to the BYU vs. Utah game on Saturday. What a great way to end the long weekend. Best of all they won in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. I forgot the camera, but oh well... this pict is from the newspaper. Our seats were at the very top of the north end, and it was so warm in the sun, it didn't matter that we didn't have better seats. We had a great time!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We had a lot of fun visiting with so much family this thanksgiving week. It was so fun to see everyone we did. At the same time we really missed those we didn't get to spend the holiday with. Jeff and I are so grateful, and we feel very blessed at this time in our lives. We have such wonderful families and we are so appreciative of all their support and love.
Thanks!

I know it is not even Thanksgiving yet and we are hanging lights, but the weather was so nice, we had to. Five stores, four hours, three broken bulbs, two ladders, and one brother later...it is all done, and it looks great. At first I was against the colored lights. That is why we went to five different stores trying to find clear ones . Apparently they do not exist. Now they are up and I am so happy, I have decided they are fun and classic.

The best part of the whole day was that Jeff didn't fall off the roof and break himself open. Yes, that is him sitting on the roof seventy feet above the concrete. I had my eyes closed for a lot of this.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT !

We had a doggie boarder this week. Some of our friends went on vacation and we are dog sitting for them. Her name is Mocha. She is a bulldog, and her mouth is big enough for Toby to fit his head inside. He sure is glad to have a friend around though. I think he will sleep for a week after she leaves.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
We hope everyone had a great Halloween! We handed out candy to all the trick or treaters and admired all the cute kiddy coustumes...our favorite Halloween activity.
