I have taken more pictures in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last two years... not a joke. I have been wanting to take some posed pictures of Kaylie so I have been waiting for her to be awake, happy and clean...waiting and waiting. I took a few pictures today, she was a very cooperative model. I borrowed a camera from my mom that take amazing quality pictures. I am keeping it with us at all times for the next couple of days so I can catch the cute faces that she makes when I least expect it. Here are a few picts of our sweetheart for now... 2 weeks old!

Hello World!

We introduced Kaylie the outside world...she was starting to think our bedroom was all there was to it. It was such a nice day and it was really great to get out of the house. Plus we got to try out the new stroller and Toby thought he was getting some attention too. Yeah for spring!

Finally Springtime!

I just wanted to post some pictures of the tulips. I am so excited they are finally out, because that means it is spring. I guess here in Utah you never know what the weather will do, but we are enjoying the warm weather for now. I planted these last fall thinking they would be up right around the time Kaylie would be born, but they were a few weeks later this year than they were last year. I love to go out in the yard in the spring and summer and see what the plants are doing.

MORE PICTURES OF KAYLIE!

Here is an exhausted mommy loving little Kaylie!

One of our nurses was nice enough to make Kaylie a fun little name tag.

I know that Amy did all the work, but I was pretty tired also. It's amazing how easy it is to just doze off for a few minutes (even on rock hard furniture at the hospital)!

This is one of my favorite pictures! Kaylie has this winking thing down! She almost always opens her left eye first. She is my everything!!!

Here is our little princess getting ready to go home! All of her clothes were too big and she looked like a little South Park character in her seat!

WE PROUDLY WELCOME KAYLIE ANN CARPENTER TO OUR FAMILY!!!

We welcomed our precious Kaylie Ann Carpenter into our family at 10:33 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2008. Kaylie weighed in at an even 7 pounds and was 18 1/4 inches long. Amy and I have been looking forward to this day for some time now and we can't believe the instant bond and love you can have for a child. We love Kaylie!!! Here are a few pictures or our little princess in her first couple of days in the hospital.
Here is Kaylie fast asleep. It was fun to learn the swaddling technique!!! I think I would go crazy if I couldn't move my hands or feet but I'm sure it's rather comfortable for her.

Here is the happy family shortly after Kaylie was born.

It was a lot of fun to have both Grandma's and Aunt Ali at the hospital. I am glad that Ali was there to help approve of Kaylie's first bow!

Here's daddy holding Kaylie for the first time!!!

Myth Busted!

We had heard rumors of it at the doctors office, and a few friends had passed along the urban legend as well. Could such a thing truly exists, a pizza that would induce labor. It comes from Cafe trio in Salt Lake City, so Jeff and I went on Saturday for lunch. Now almost 72 hours after eating the chicken garlic pizza, I can say that it is only that, a pizza - no magical properties included.

First Drive of the Year!!!

In case John looks at this blog in search of a few tips on how to drive the ball straight and far!!! Thanks again for the fun round of golf!!!

GOLF SEASON HAS STARTED

Well, John and I officially started the 2008 golf season at Thanksgiving Point this weekend. We played under some pretty tough c0nditions with cold temperatures and a brisk wind. The toughest part of the conditions was probably the state of our games! For the first round of the year, it went suprisingly well (you can tell it was the first round of the year based on our extremely white legs!!!). John opened with a downhill curving putt for birdie and he should have quit after the first hole! I realize that it really is a stupid question, but yes, in the end I did win. Using our modified scoring, and I emphasize modified, I shot a -2 and John shot a +1. John made a valient charge at the end, but I had built a large enough lead to pull away with the win!
A sign of good things to come is that I only lost 2-3 golf balls during the round. For those of you who have played at Thanksgiving Point before, there are plenty of holes to lose a golf ball.

Overall, we each had holes that we birdied and I think the highest score on any hole was an 8 (we stayed out of double digits!!!). It is always a lot of fun playing with John and I look forward to a great summer of golf!!! John and I are planning on playing our own little tournament this summer with the final round being played at Torrey Pines during the summer. Let's just say that John has a lot of practicing if he thinks he stands a chance!!! Thanks for the good times John and I can't wait for the rest of the summer of golf!
